It’s a new year – and a new season for the Brooklyn Skate Garden at Mount Prospect Park.

We’re delighted to share that the NYC Parks and Recreation Department will be revealing designs this spring at an upcoming meeting of Community Board 8

In the meantime, here’s a recap – and an invitation to actively support the BSG, a world-class, environmentally-sustainable, multigenerational skate garden that builds on the very best of Brooklyn’s strengths – in the heart of Brooklyn, in Mount Prospect Park.

Subject: I support the Brooklyn Skate Garden

Dear Community Board 8,

I am writing to express my strong support for the Brooklyn Skate Garden because it reflects what our community truly needs: a safe place for young people to gather, a healthier park, and a shared public space where families, neighbors, and nature can thrive together. This project delivers real benefits to Mount Prospect Park — new trees, native plantings, and major sustainable landscaping that will strengthen the park’s ecology. It transforms an under-utilized area into a vibrant, green, welcoming space for everyone.

The Brooklyn Skate Garden is an investment in New York City’s youth, community, and the future of Mount Prospect Park.  I respectfully request that Community Board 8 support this project and the many community members who believe in it.

Thank you,
