A Message From
Loren, Pablo’s Mom

When I created Pablo’s foundation after his passing, my goal was to shine light on Pablo’s life and inspire young people without the financial resources to do what they love, specifically in the areas of skateboarding, music, and art, which were all Pablo’s passions. The foundation's mission is to financially support grassroots organizations that enrich young people’s lives while engaging our communities with art and events. I am humbled and honored by all of the support the foundation has received to do these things thus far.

This past year we started off with the first ever Power of Pablo Biennial art & music fundraiser in San Francisco. Through the money raised we sent Bay Area youth to the YMCA Skate Camp & Skate Like A Girl camps, and got others enrolled in Oaktown Jazz Music programs. We also directly impacted young artists through our collaborative art parties with the Youth Arts Exchange. In Brooklyn we hosted various community skate meetups, beach cleanups, and painting and gardening projects while we worked towards securing a site for the Brooklyn Skate Garden. We also made end of the year donations to Homey SF and Bushwick Ayuda Mutua; mutual aid organizations in SF and Brooklyn.

Our 2023 schedule is already exciting. We will be continuing the mission of the Brooklyn Skate Garden throughout the year, and hosting a skate event this February in SF where we will be releasing a limited edition skateboard with Pablo’s art and a collab project with FTC. Then, in the spring we will be hosting a Skate with your Mom Day on Mother’s Day weekend in Brooklyn, while planning a community mural with renowned artist Steve "Espo" Powers at Golconda Skatepark in downtown Brooklyn. Throughout the year we will also be laying the groundwork and preparing for the 2nd Annual Power of Pablo in SF in 2024.

Losing Pablo has been heartbreaking, but creating his foundation has helped me to heal and give back in a beautiful way that honors Pablo by helping others without the financial resources. I feel inspired to know that Pablo’s life impacts people around the world. His foundation positively brings people together and I feel humbled to be doing something that is so meaningful to others. All the donations we receive fuels our programming, strengthen our scholarships, and goes back into our communities.
