The Brooklyn Skate Garden is Funded!!!

Honoring Pablo’s life and legacy, with $11 million by NYC and enthusiastic support of Brooklyn elected officials. The BSG— one of four skateparks NYC is developing with The Skate Park Project—will take shape in Mount Prospect Park, near the Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Garden & the Public Library and steps from Pablo’s childhood home.

Pablo Weekend

To celebrate Pablo’s Birthday in San Fran, we partied with DJ’s @adpbeats and @huskyroundup an art show and fundraiser featuring Pablo’s skated and painted boards; we skated with a jazz jam session (thanks, @babysteps and @sfskateclub); we painted boards donated by @deluxsf and @sfskateclub to benefit @youthartsx. Big Thanks to @hufworldwide, which donated 100% of proceeds from a special, Pablo-themed art capsule.

BSG Community Meeting

At the BSG’s initial community meeting, over 400 locals turned out to support and learn about our project; city elected officials, including NYC Controller Brad Lander, Brooklyn Boro President Antonio Reynoso, Council Member Crystal Hudson, and Bklyn Parks Commissioner Martin Maher participated.

Skate Jam & Board Upcycling Pop-Up

In San Francisco, with SF Parks & Rec and Shred and Butter, we hosted a skate jam and board upcycling pop-up, hosted by The Lab and Indiana Basin Shoreline Park and the Randall Museum’ thanks to Nicola Bosco Alvarez for her leadership.

CB8 Meeting

BSG supporters, including some very young skaters, joined a CB8 meeting to express their enthusiasm for the BSG at Mount Prospect Park. Big win for civic engagement and speaking out for what matters! Sincere thanks to the skaters and volunteers who joined the conversation.
