Every donation made on our website was matched by us, with the totals being split between Bushwick Ayuda Mutua and Homey SF. In total, we were able to donate $1,500 to each organization! 2021 Recap

This year was one for the books. We started the year off with a worldwide Push For Pablo Day for Pablo’s birthday, then premiered A Day in The Life of Pablo, launched our merch store, were awarded $300K for the Brooklyn Skate Garden in District 39 Local Participatory Budgeting Vote, hosted the first ever Skate with Your Mom Day, planted Pablo’s Garden in Brooklyn, planned a mural workshop logo event with the help of Steve ESPO Powers, won the 2021 Exposure Skate Impala Skate Rising Award, and finished the year off with a skate-to-donate session benefiting Trinity Place Shelter in Harlem.

All in all, we donated money to help serve the BKLYN Relief Kitchen, Bed Stuy Strong, The Youth Arts Exchange in San Fran, and hosted FREE events as we brought our skate community together.

We couldn’t have accomplished any of this without the love and encouragement from our supporters. Thank you for spreading the love, showing out, and amplifying our voice.

A HUGE thank you to @brad.lander @pbnyc39 @nycparks @shahanafrombk @oldstonehousebklyn @steveespopowers @homageskateboardacademy @skateyogi @boardsforbrosny @clarenceklingbeil @nyc_skate_coalition @youthartx @bedstuystrong @bkreliefkitchen @substanceskatepark @donnybarley @stever_nyc @skatejawn @exposureskate @kcdcskateshop @grlswirlnyc and all of our amazing partners who have helped make all of our events possible.

GRLSWIRL NYC x Pablo Ramirez Foundation Coat Drive for Trinity Place Shelter

We are thankful for everyone who showed up, showed out, and helped us raise donations for Trinity Place Shelter. With the holidays in full swing, it warms our hearts to see our community come together to give back. Big love to @grlswirlnyc and @substanceskatepark for joining us in making this event possible, we hope all who attended had fun skating and making new friends.

BIG LOVE to @lipstickskateboards and @subjectskatebrand for coming by and donating boxes of new clothes, hats, and notebooks. Because of this overwhelming support, we have enough clothes to not only donate to Trinity Place Shelter, but also to New Alternatives NYC, an organization helping homeless LGBTQ+ youth transition out of the shelter system.

In addition to the clothing donations, we also raised $500 in cash donations for the Trinity Place Shelter, which the Pablo Ramirez Foundation will be matching 100%.

If you weren’t able to make it but would love to attend and/or support one of our upcoming events, sign up for our newsletter and make a donation to support our free programs!

ESPO Logo Workshop and Mural Planning Event

Espo’s Art, Logo, Mural workshop was absolutely incredible. This is what a community looks like: everyone together,  inspired and feeling passionate. Thank you @stephenespopowers for making this event such a success. Thank you to everyone who created, pondered, wondered and let your graphic expression come alive. Thank you to all the BSG Volunteers who helped out: Will, Noah, Garret & Mitch. Special thanks to photographer Sean Bendon and filmer Michael Funari

For this event, we had over 100 participants, Kids, skaters, parents, young professionals and seniors; who all sat in the middle of a skate ramp in Golconda skatepark underneath the BQE. We were guided with amazing tips and insights from ESPO who walked everyone through all the steps in creating our own logos and graphic identities.

This workshop is the 1st step in creating our next community mural which will be at Golconda Skatepark next spring 2022.

Pablo’s Podcast

Le Podcast American’s

Episode 18: Pablo

We are pleased to share a podcast devoted to Pablo.  Last year before the pandemic while we were in San Francisco for the launch of Pablo’s Foundation. We had the pleasure of meeting @alexgrardel a French Podcaster @pelerinagesamericains who was traveling and hitchhiking across America sharing and writing stories about American pilgrimages.

The day we met Alex he was at the John Coltrane Church learning about John’s life and the church — He also coincidentally had heard so many people talk about Pablo while he was in SF.  That same day we were celebrating Pablo’s life. Alex (who spoke French met Herve @2sailingchefs and asked us if we would be interested in sharing Pablo’s story and how Pablo’s life and legacy has impacted skateboarding here in San Francisco and beyond for his Podcast. We were honored.

The podcast is about inspiration, skateboarding and friendships.

This  podcast is dedicated to Pablo and celebrates what a French foreigner felt by learning more about Pablo and the pilgrimages skateboarders have made to San Fran and especially to Twin Peaks. The Podcast is about 60% in French with many interviews in English.  If you don’t speak French, don’t worry we have included the English translation,  link in our bio for you to follow along — even if you speak no French, the music, the stories and the sounds will make you feel as close to what its like to connect to the spirit and essence of friendship and skateboarding in San Francisco.

Thank you Alex @Alexgrardel at @pelerinagesamericains for all the time and love you shared in connecting to Pablo’s Foundation and being so inspired for how Pablo lived his life —-and thank you for making this beautiful podcast.  Thank you to everyone who was interviewed as well and for sharing your stories. Enjoy the podcast.
