The Pablo Ramirez Foundation x Oaktown Jazz Workshop Scholarships

Jazz Lessons & Workshop Scholarships for East Bay Youth

We have created a scholarship fund which offers youth, ages 10-18 from low-income families, to enroll in weekly Jazz Ensemble workshops. Support also covers tuition for the following additional OJW classes and clinics:

- Improvisation Class

- Jazz Encounters Clinics with world-renowned musicians

- Live Concert Audio Engineering Workshops

- Music Theory Class

- Vocal Ensemble

Based in Oakland, the Oaktown Jazz Workshop offers community based, cultural education dedicated to passing on the tradition of jazz music to young people through music instruction, educational workshops, and live concerts.

Oaktown Jazz Workshops (OJW) promotes jazz music education among San Francisco Bay Area youth ages 10-18. OJW fills a critical gap left by inconsistent music programming in public schools and costly private music programs that are inaccessible to many low-income families.

OJW provides a space for youth to grow artistically, personally, and professionally by offering free, high quality music instruction and experiential musical training for young people who could not otherwise afford private music lessons or private music school.
