Skate Scholarships For The Youth Summer Camp

Every year, we give a donation to Skate Like A Girl SF Bay that will act as a scholarship stipend to support campers who require financial assistance. This scholarship will open the door to many more people who want to join this all inclusive community of skaters in the bay area!

Some of their programs include:

Women and/or Trans Skate Sessions - Lessons and open skate sessions in an indoor skatepark for folks who identify as women and/or trans.

Youth Summer Camps - week long camps for youth ages 6-16. Some weeks are for all genders and some weeks are exclusively for youth who identify as female/trans/nonbinary.

Youth Skate School - weekly skate classes for youth ages 6-13.

Community Meetups - free meetups where everyone is welcome, there is no formal instruction and folks just come to hang out and skate.

Shop Hangs - evening hang out at local skate shops where everyone is welcome, we watch skate videos, have special guests and give out prizes.

Outreach Programs - partnerships with local organizations that serve low income communities where we provide free skate lessons.

Skate Clinics - One off events where we partner with local organizations that serve low income communities we provide free skate lessons.

Women and/or Trans Adult Retreat - week long retreat at YMCA skate camp in Fresno, California for folks who identify as women and/or trans and are 18+.

Ally Sk8 - workshop that covers the fundamentals of being an ally in the skate community by learning how to be more inclusive, receive feedback positively and practice consent.

Skate Like A Girl's mission is to to create an inclusive community by promoting confidence, leadership, and social justice through skateboarding. Their vision is to empower skaters, especially young women and/or trans people, to grow into strong, confident leaders who promote and implement social equity. We value experiential learning and civic participation, and Skate Like A Girl checks those boxes by providing opportunities to be involved in the skateboarding community. They have groups located in Seattle, Portland and the SF Bay Area.
